Rita Lake

Rita M. Lake grew up in Shreveport, LA, and began working for Nelson & Hammons in 1985 as the firm’s receptionist. In 1988, Rita advanced into a Legal Assistant role to John L. Hammons where she remained full-time until her retirement in 2017. Embracing a new chapter in her life, Rita next relocated to Texas to spend quality time with her two adult children, Shawn and Michelle. In 2018, Rita returned to Nelson & Hammons providing remote, legal assistance to John L. Hammons in a role she continues today with over 38 years of service. She is active in her new community of Tomball, Texas, joining the Catholic Daughters of America and serving in a local Ministers of Care church group, bringing the Eucharist/Communion to residents in assisted living and nursing homes. Rita enjoys reading, traveling, sharing life with her children and adventuring with new friends who now feel like family.
